Every July, the streets of Manilva come alive with music, processions and celebrations as the town honours its patron saint, Santa Ana.
Known in English as Saint Anne, Santa Ana is traditionally recognised in Christian belief as the mother of the Virgin Mary and the grandmother of Jesus. Her feast day is celebrated on 26 July and is one of the most important dates in Manilva’s festive calendar, combining religious devotion, local traditions and the lively atmosphere of a summer verbena.
The Fiestas Patronales de Santa Ana 2026 will take place on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 July, with activities centred around Calle Mar and the Iglesia Santa Ana.
Programme
Saturday 25 July
11 am — Traditional popular games, including giant waterslide.
Traditional games will take place in Calle Mar, organised by the Cofradía de Nuestra Señora de los Dolores y Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno de Manilva, with the collaboration of the Festivities Department.
10.30 pm — Music and dancing in Calle Mar
The evening celebrations will feature live performances by Cat Forever, Chanelando and Chicos G.
Sunday 26 July
8 am — Dianas and pasacalles
The Charanga de Cádiz will bring music and festive atmosphere to the streets of Manilva.
7 pm — Holy Mass
A Holy Mass will be celebrated in honour of Santa Ana at the Iglesia Santa Ana, accompanied by the Choir of Manilva’s Municipal School of Music.
Following the Mass — Procession
The image of Santa Ana will be carried through the main streets of Manilva, accompanied by the Municipal Band of Music.
10.30 pm — Tamara Jerez
Singer Tamara Jerez, winner of the television programme Nacidas para cantar, will perform a special tribute to the legendary Rocío Jurado in Calle Mar.
12.30 am — Cat Forever
The celebrations will continue into the early hours with more live music and dancing from Cat Forever.
