Manilva International Festival

Manilva celebrates its multicultural community with the XVII International Festival from Saturday, 24th to Sunday 25th May in Castillo de la Duquesa.

The Manilva International Festival, held each year in and around the Castle in the village of Castillo de la Duquesa, is a vibrant celebration of the town’s multicultural spirit, with 42% of the registered population born outside of Spain, a figure spanning some 79 different nationalities.

Organised by the Foreign Residents Department, the event brings together locals and visitors from around the world to share traditions, cuisine, music, and art in a welcoming, festive atmosphere.

Now in its 17th edition, the festival typically spans a full weekend, beginning with a colourful flag parade through the streets of Manilva, Sabinillas and Puerto de la Duquesa. This lively procession, representing over two dozen nations, sets the tone for a weekend filled with cultural pride and community togetherness.

In and around the castle, attendees can explore stalls from more than 24 countries. Each offering a unique taste of its homeland—whether through traditional dishes, handmade crafts, or cultural displays. The event also features an eclectic lineup of performances, from flamenco and tango to capoeira and live music from across the globe, reflecting the rich diversity of Manilva’s population.

What sets this festival apart is its strong sense of inclusion. With activities tailored for families, children, and individuals of all backgrounds, it’s more than just a celebration—it’s a genuine effort to build bridges across cultures and strengthen community ties.

Please Note: Timings and running can (and often do) change on the day.
