Costa del Sol train

On 17th July, a crucial meeting will be held in Malaga, bringing together representatives from the Spanish Government, the Junta de Andalucía, the Provincial Council, and the local councils of Malaga and Marbella to discuss the future of the coastal train.

According to reports in the Spanish press, the summit, organised by the Ministry of Transport, may also involve other coastal municipalities along the proposed train route.

The meeting, chaired by the Secretary of Transport, José Antonio Santano, will initiate discussions to advance this much-anticipated project on the Western Costa del Sol. The aim is to enhance the region’s infrastructure, improve connectivity with the capital, and alleviate congestion on the A7 highway, which currently suffers from frequent traffic jams and accidents.
