Since it was built by Paul Hickling in 1982, over half a million people have visited the Roman Oasis restaurant! But now you can play Crazy Golf as well on our challenging 18 hole course. Paul’s talented wife Kaat now runs the business but Paul is still around to abuse customers as usual, whilst wearing his maintenance man’s hat!
Choose from our small but tasty lunch menu with other daily suggestions while soaking up the tropical atmosphere on our shady terraces. Parrots in the trees. The crazy golf and a pool table on the Chillout Terrace should keep everyone occupied and amused. There’s a children’s play area to give parents some peace where the little darlings can be seen and not heard!
If you’re looking for a fun afternoon either with family or friends, or if you have a business that needs team building, or a competition of any sort this is the place.
The Roman Oasis has a great bar and you are most welcome to come up just for a drink or coffee and see what we do. For four decades the bar has been lovingly varnished by the same aging owner, and if the bar could talk here would dark secrets told in whispers on drunken nights. So why not enjoy a drink and good company and maybe feel the aura of those who have sat there before.
Oh yes, at the end of the bar I see Keith Floyd having a slurp with South London gangster Charlie Richardson and Bob Hoskins. Frank Carson’s telling a naughty joke to Freddy Star and Cilla Black’s having a Lorra Lorra Laughs! Helen Shapiro is singing to Anni-Frid of Abba (who had her daughter’s wedding here). Oh dear,… Robert Carlisle is giving everybody ‘The Full Monty’! Every picture and relic above the bar tells a story.
Our draught beer is still served in sparkling frozen glasses for which we’ve been famous since 1983. If you like your beer in a bottle or can we have what they call ‘beer condoms’ from Thailand to keep the beer cool. So pop up and slip one on!
If it’s Crazy Golf you want, you don’t need to book, we supply everything you will need except luck! It’s 9.50€ for adults and 5.50€ for children under 12.
So if you’re looking for a fun afternoon either with family or friends, or if you have a business that needs team building, or a competition of any sort the Roman Oasis is the place.
