The President of the Association of Municipalities of the Western Costa del Sol, José Antonio Mena, visited the facilities yesterday to check how the modernization process is progressing, which began in 2020 and is scheduled to end next year 2023 with an investment of more than 23 million euros.
The sealing and degassing of the landfill area, which will reduce bad odours around the perimeter of the facility, the improvement of access to the facility, the modernisation of the environmental classroom and the creation of new offices are some of the most important works that are being carried out.
This Complex, which opened in 1999, manages the waste of the eleven municipalities that make up the Mancomunidad and with the improvements, it is intended to boost the quality and efficiency and make it one of the most modern environmental complexes in the country.
