Mobility strategy for the Costa del Sol

Manilva will be part of this extraordinary project

The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, the Junta de Andalucía, the Provincial Council, and the municipalities of Málaga and Cádiz have convened to discuss and improve mobility on the Costa del Sol. A significant focus of the discussion was the coastal train project.

Manilva’s mayor, José Manuel Fernández, represented the municipality in this important dialogue aimed at addressing the future mobility needs of the Costa del Sol. The Secretary of State for Transport and Sustainable Mobility, José Antonio Santano, emphasized the importance of “dialogue between institutions and the pursuit of consensus, listening to the regions to provide the best solutions.”

Representatives from the Junta, the Provincial Council, and the municipalities stressed the urgent need for solutions due to the growing mobility issues on the Costa del Sol and in the Campo de Gibraltar, affecting thousands of residents.

The meeting concluded with a plan to establish two working groups with technical representatives from the involved institutions. These groups will focus on the coastal train project and improving access to the AP7 toll highway.
