Gibraltar is preparing to welcome back one of its best-loved live music events, as the Gibraltar Music Festival returns in a new Summer Sessions format this September.
The GMF Summer Sessions will take place over three evenings, from Thursday 3 to Saturday 5 September 2026, bringing a mix of international stars, much-loved classic acts and local talent to the Europa Sports Arena at Europa Point.
The new format marks the return of the spirit of the Gibraltar Music Festival, but in a more focused three-night programme designed to appeal to both local audiences and visitors from across the Campo de Gibraltar and Costa del Sol.
Each evening will feature a separate line-up, with food, drinks and live entertainment adding to the festival atmosphere. Concerts are scheduled to begin at 6.30 pm, making it an ideal late-summer night out with the Rock as a dramatic backdrop.
Thursday 3 September will be headlined by James Morrison, the British singer-songwriter known for hits including You Give Me Something and Broken Strings. He will be joined on the opening night by Melon Diesel, Hard-Fi, DJ Wayne and Nikolai Celecia.
Friday 4 September brings a Spanish and international flavour, with Rosario heading the bill. Also performing that evening will be Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Tony Hadley and The Jesse Tree, offering a wide-ranging night of pop, dance and classic hits.
The festival closes on Saturday 5 September with Billy Ocean, one of the most successful British soul and pop artists of his generation. The final night will also include performances from 10cc, The Real Thing, Adrian Pisarello and Band, and Disco Works DJs.
Local artists will play an important role throughout the three days, giving Gibraltar musicians the chance to share the stage with established international names. Organisers have described the event as part of Gibraltar’s wider events-led tourism strategy, aimed at attracting visitors while also supporting the local cultural scene.
Tickets are available through BuyTickets.gi, with individual night tickets and three-day festival passes on offer. Prices start from £45, with full festival passes also available for those who want to enjoy all three nights.
Bus transfers are expected to be available at an additional cost, and attendees will also be able to use public transport services to Europa Point.
With a line-up spanning soul, pop, rock, disco and local music, the GMF Summer Sessions promise to bring a lively end-of-summer atmosphere to Gibraltar just ahead of National Week celebrations.
