China Crisis in Malaga

British new wave favourites China Crisis will perform at Sala Trinchera in Málaga on Thursday 17 September 2026, bringing more than four decades of distinctive pop music to the city.

Formed in Kirkby, near Liverpool, China Crisis emerged in the early 1980s around the songwriting partnership of vocalist and keyboard player Gary Daly and guitarist and vocalist Eddie Lundon. Their music combined new wave and synth-pop with influences ranging from David Bowie and Brian Eno to Stevie Wonder and Steely Dan.

The band achieved international success with a string of memorable songs, including Wishful Thinking, Christian, Black Man Ray, King in a Catholic Style, Arizona Sky and African and White. Across their career, they have achieved three UK Top 40 albums and eleven UK Top 50 singles while building a loyal following around the world.

China Crisis continue to tour extensively, combining classic favourites with more recent material and the relaxed humour that has become a familiar part of their live performances. Their Málaga appearance forms part of the band’s Warped 2026 tour, which includes dates across the United Kingdom, Europe and North America.

The concert promises an intimate evening of sophisticated melodies, harmonies and nostalgic British pop in one of Málaga’s established live music venues.

China Crisis in concert takes place at 8 pm on Thursday 17 September 2026 at Sala Trinchera, Calle Parauta 25, Málaga. Tickets are available from €28, and entry is for those aged 16 and over.
