Manilva will celebrate its eagerly awaited August Feria from Tuesday 4 to Sunday 9 August, with a packed programme of live music, dancing, fairground attractions, colourful parades and entertainment for all ages.
The celebrations will begin with a special pre-feria evening for the municipality’s senior residents before the official opening at the fairground on Wednesday. Over the following days, the Municipal Tent and Youth Tent will welcome orchestras, flamenco groups, popular artists and guest DJs.
Tuesday 4 August
The programme begins at 9 pm with a dinner for Manilva’s senior residents in Plaza de la Vendimia.
After dinner, Maribel Castillo will present Se Me Enamora el Alma, a musical tribute to Isabel Pantoja accompanied by a live orchestra.
Wednesday 5 August
Wednesday is Children’s Day, with all fairground rides priced at €1.50 from 9 pm.
The official inauguration will take place at 10.30 pm with the switching on of the feria lights at the entrance to the fairground.
This will be followed by the opening speech delivered by local resident Elisa Luque Pascual, who has been involved with Manilva’s parent associations and religious community for many years. She is also a member of the Flamenco Choir and Dance Group at the Municipal School of Music, Dance and Theatre.
At 11.30 pm, the municipality’s children’s, youth and senior Feria Queen’s and Attendants will be crowned.
The celebrations will then move to the Municipal marquee, where the New Velada orchestra will provide music and dancing throughout the night.
Resident DJs Pablo Drazza, Pájaro and Becerra will perform in the Youth marquee, followed at 3 am by national DJ Batanero.
Thursday 6 August
New Velada will open the evening’s entertainment in the Municipal marquee at 10 pm.
At midnight, Maki & María will take to the stage with their distinctive mixture of flamenco, pop and urban Latin music.
The entertainment continues at 2 am with Andalucian group Los Twingo, known for combining pop and rock covers with humour, impressions and a lively party atmosphere.
New Velada will return after the performances to continue the dancing.
The Youth marquee will feature resident DJs Pájaro, Becerra and Pablo Drazza, followed at 3 am by José Peibol with a session featuring urban music, dancehall, Afrobeat, Afrotech and reggaeton.
Friday 7 August
Friday’s programme begins at 10.30 pm with music and dancing from the New Velada orchestra in the Municipal marquee.
Radio Petrarca will perform at midnight, taking the audience on a musical journey through some of the greatest songs of the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s.
At 2 am, Calet will bring a fusion of flamenco and pop to the stage, followed by more music from New Velada.
Resident DJs Becerra, Pablo Drazza and Pájaro will entertain the Youth marquee throughout the night. At 3 am, the Santo Perreo party arrives with DJ Tony Toba.
Saturday 8 August
Saturday’s celebrations begin at 8 pm with the traditional parade of floats through the principal streets of Manilva. The procession will be accompanied by the Los Mihitas and Cádiz brass bands.
At 10.30 pm, the group Latidos will open the evening’s entertainment in the Municipal marquee.
Flamenco group El Callejón will perform at midnight, followed at 2 am by Compás Flamenco. Latidos will then return to continue the music and dancing.
The Youth Tent will feature resident DJs Pablo Drazza, Pájaro and Becerra, with guest DJ Ezequiel Rodríguez performing from 3 am.
Sunday 9 August
The final day of the feria begins at 7.30 pm with another colourful parade of floats and street performers.
The procession will travel through El Castillo de la Duquesa before continuing through the streets of San Luis de Sabinillas, accompanied once again by the Los Mihitas and Cádiz brass bands.
Latidos will provide music and dancing in the Municipal marquee from 10.30 pm.
At 12.30 am, popular flamenco-fusion artist Demarco Flamenco will headline the final evening before Latidos returns to continue the celebrations.
Resident DJs Pájaro, Becerra and Pablo Drazza will perform in the Youth marquee, followed at 3 am by Spanish DJ and producer Pedro Calderón.
Monday 10 August
Bonus Children’s Day, with all fairground rides priced at €1.50 from 9 pm.
Practical Information
The Municipal marquee will open daily from 9 pm. According to the official programme, the Youth marquee will be open to young people aged between 12 and 16 from 10 pm until 1 am.
With live performances, traditional parades, fairground attractions and entertainment continuing until the early hours, the Feria de Manilva promises to be one of the biggest celebrations of the municipality’s summer calendar.
