Construction of three major solar parks in Casares is creating employment opportunities, with local workers being invited to register their CVs for positions in mechanical installation, electrical work and machinery operation.
Casares Council has announced the types of workers being sought for the construction of the Casares I, II and III photovoltaic plants, following the official start of the project on 20 October.
The development represents an investment of more than €28 million and will have a combined generating capacity of 96 megawatts, producing enough electricity annually to meet the equivalent needs of approximately 52,300 homes.
As construction gets underway, subcontractors involved in the project will be recruiting workers with relevant qualifications and experience.
What jobs are available?
The council has identified three main categories of employment.
Mechanical installers will be responsible for assembling the structures and solar tracking systems that support the panels. Applicants must have 20 hours of relevant occupational health and safety training, or an accepted equivalent. Previous experience in photovoltaic installations and reading technical drawings will be an advantage.
Electrical installers will undertake cabling, component installation and electrical connections. They must have the appropriate 20-hour electrical safety training, with experience in solar installations and interpreting electrical diagrams considered desirable.
Telescopic-handler operators will be needed to load, unload and move materials around the construction site. Applicants must have the required 20-hour machinery safety training, or an accepted equivalent, together with specific theoretical and practical training in operating telescopic handlers.
The council has clarified that recruitment will be carried out by the subcontracting companies working on the project. The main contractor, OHLA, has already completed recruitment for its own team.
How to apply
Anyone interested in these opportunities can register their professional details and upload a CV through EmpléaT, Casares Council’s new online employment platform.
Launched on 22 October, the service connects jobseekers with businesses looking for staff and also provides information about employment training.
Applicants can register online at: https://www.casares.es/empleat
Those who prefer to apply in person can submit their CV at the Social Welfare Office in Calle Fuente, Casares.
The new solar parks are expected to generate both direct and indirect employment during construction, providing opportunities for qualified workers in Casares and the surrounding area.
The council hopes the investment will bring economic benefits to the municipality while contributing to the development of renewable energy.
