Manilva’s popular Corruco Race returns on Saturday 15 August 2026, bringing runners of all ages together for an evening of sport along the municipality’s coastline.
Now celebrating its fourteenth edition, the race has become an established date in Manilva’s summer sporting calendar, attracting both experienced athletes and recreational runners. With shorter races for children and a six-kilometre main event, the Corruco Race offers an opportunity for the whole family to get involved.
The event will begin at 7 pm, with the start and finish area located around La Noria in Sabinillas. The main six-kilometre race will start from Calle Duquesa de Arcos and follow a coastal route through areas including La Colonia, Puerto de La Duquesa and El Castillo.
Programme of races
The evening will begin at 7 pm with a 400-metre race for the prebenjamín and benjamín categories.
At 7.20 pm, runners in the alevín and infantil categories will take part in an 800-metre race.
The main six-kilometre race for competitors from cadet through to veteran categories will start at 8 pm. Participants in this event must be at least 14 years old.
All races will share the same finishing point, with the starting position adjusted for the younger categories according to the distance being covered.
Registration information
Registration is available exclusively online through the Dorsalchip platform and will remain open until 2 pm on Thursday 13 August, unless the maximum capacity of 700 runners is reached earlier.
The registration fee is €10 for categories from prebenjamín through to junior and €15 for senior and veteran categories.
Entries may also be accepted at the starting area on the day of the race until 6 pm, although this will only be possible when places remain available. Anyone wishing to participate is therefore advised to register online in advance.
Each registered runner will receive a commemorative technical T-shirt and will also be entered into a prize draw taking place during the awards ceremony.
Race numbers
Race numbers may be collected from the Manilva Sports Department in Plaza Martín Carpena, beside the football ground, on Thursday 13 and Friday 14 August between 10 am and 2 pm.
They may also be collected from the stand at the starting area on race day from 5 pm until one hour before the beginning of the participant’s race.
The event will be timed using an electronic chip system. Runners must display their race number clearly and complete the full designated route to appear in the official classifications.
Prizes and refreshments
Trophies will be presented to the first three male and female finishers in the overall six-kilometre classification, as well as the first three competitors in each male and female age category.
A refreshment point will be available at the finishing area, where runners will be offered water, fruit and Manilva’s traditional locally grown grapes.
The XIV Corruco Race will once again be held under the slogan “Become an Organ Donor”, adding an important awareness message to one of the municipality’s biggest summer sporting events.
The race has also been designated as a sustainable event. Participants and spectators are asked to respect the route, use the recycling containers provided at the finish and avoid leaving waste in the surrounding streets, gardens and public spaces.
An evening of sport on the Manilva coast
Combining competitive racing, children’s events and a lively summer atmosphere, the Corruco Race is suitable for regular athletes, local running clubs and anyone looking to take on a manageable coastal challenge.
Residents and visitors are also encouraged to support the runners along the route and enjoy an evening of community sport in Sabinillas, Puerto de La Duquesa and El Castillo.
