Whilst Blas Infante, ‘The Father of Andalucia’, is primarily associated with his birthplace of Casares, there are many connections with a number of towns and cities in Andalucia, including Manilva.
The Villa Matilde in Sabinillas was once the property of Don Ignacio Infante, Blas Infante’s brother, and in recent years The Villa Matilde came into possession of the municipality, who restored it since when it has served many purposes including: tourist office, council chambers, etc., and is now used for meetings, presentations, exhibitions, exercise and dance classes, meetings, presentations, exhibitions, and other public events.
The adjoining Villa Matilde Park was opened in 2010.
