The company Iberus Capital Investment Group, has begun the procedures with the Manilva Council Urban Planning Management, to obtain a licence for the basic renovation project for the La Duquesa Golf Clubhouse.
Following the presentation of the requisite documentation, and after the municipal technicians have issued the mandatory technical report, as well as the favourable document from the provincial fire brigade, Council have agreed to grant a licence so that the work can begin.
The Mayor and Urban Planning head, José Manuel Fernández, stated that this is very good news that these works to renovate this building are to be carried out and, “will serve to open the possibility of improving the entire complex as a whole, which would benefit the local economy and the employment prospects for local residents, in addition to what it would mean for tourism” he noted.
The golf club is an important leisure and tourism asset, which always had a great social and economic impact on the town, but in recent times had been falling into disrepair.
