Manilva honours the remarkable achievement of local athlete José Miguel Martínez “Chemi”, who has claimed the Andalusian Professional K1 Championship title.
The championship bout took place during the Etenon Arena Marbella Weekend, held at the Adolfo Suárez Trade Fair and Congress Centre in Marbella. Representing Sabinillas and coached by fellow Manilva resident José Juárez, Martínez secured victory in the 58.2 kg professional Kickboxing category. He delivered an exceptional performance against a seasoned opponent from Córdoba, who entered the ring with a record of more than 40 bouts. Their fight was widely regarded as the standout contest of the entire event.
The weekend-long, multidisciplinary sports festival brought together over 300 athletes from Spain and abroad, with competitions spanning functional training, contact sports, and bodybuilding. The event drew an estimated 3,600 attendees, generating a projected €250,000 in direct economic impact for Marbella. A highly organized team of nearly 300 professionals, including referees, trainers, and event staff, played a key role in its success.
Manilva Life extends its heartfelt congratulations to José Miguel Martínez for this outstanding accomplishment and for representing our community with distinction.
