Residents and visitors will once again be able to enjoy one of Manilva’s most popular summer traditions, with reservations now opening for the municipality’s traditional “barcas para moragas” — the beach barbecue boats used for evening gatherings by the sea.
The booking system for the 2026 season will operate in fortnightly reservation blocks throughout the summer, with reservations made in advance at the Beaches Department office, located at the Monumento del Castillo in Castillo de la Duquesa.
Reservations must be made in person and applicants are required to present a copy of their DNI or identification document on both sides. Bookings must be made at least three days in advance.
The office opening hours for reservations are from 10.30 am to 1.30 pm.
According to the published schedule, reservation dates will open as follows:
- From 18 May — reservations for 1 to 14 June
- From 1 June — reservations for 15 to 30 June
- From 15 June — reservations for 1 to 15 July
- From 1 July — reservations for 16 July to 2 August
- From 15 July — reservations for 3 to 16 August
- From 3 August — reservations for 17 to 31 August
- From 17 August — reservations for 1 to 15 September
- From 1 September — reservations for 16 to 30 September
The boats can be used between 8 pm and 1 am, offering groups the chance to enjoy traditional moraga-style evenings by the beach during the summer months.
The person making the reservation will be fully responsible for any disturbances, littering or damage caused during use, and the boats must be left clean and in proper condition afterwards.
There are five barbecue boats available across Manilva’s coastline:
- Two at La Noria
- Two at La Colonia
- One at Los Granados
