Manilva Carnival 2026 will take place from Friday, 20th to Sunday, 22nd March in the marquee located at Plaza de Los Maestros in Sabinillas. Among the activities there will be a parade of floats, a fancy dress contest, carnival performances, and others.
Friday 20 March
5.30 pm to 7.30 pm – Performance by school chirigota groups (Inter-school Carnival organised by the Department of Education).
8.00 pm – DJ Pablo Drazza.
Saturday 21 March
4.00 pm – Carnival parade through Sabinillas, starting from La Noria. Anyone in costume may take part.
6.00 pm – Registration for the children’s fancy-dress competition.
6.30 pm – Children’s entertainment with games, workshops and activities.
7.30 pm – Children’s fancy-dress competition (prize giving).
8.30 pm – Prize raffle.
9.00 pm – Performance by the Jéssica Quiñones School of Body Expression.
11.00 pm – Registration for the adult fancy-dress competition.
12.00 am – Adult costume competition.
1.00 am – DJ Tubo and DJ Pajares.
Sunday 22 March
1.00 pm – Performance by prize-winning school chirigota groups.
2.00 pm – Performance by the Chirigota del Pelu.
2.30 pm to 3.30 pm – Free tasting of callos (traditional tripe stew).
3.30 pm – Performance by the comparsa that won third prize in the “Villa de Manilva 2026” Carnival Groups Competition.
4.00 pm – Performance by the chirigota that won third prize in the “Villa de Manilva 2026” Carnival Groups Competition.
4.30 pm – Performance by the chirigota that won second prize in the “Villa de Manilva 2026” Carnival Groups Competition.
5.00 pm – Performance by the comparsa that won second prize in the “Villa de Manilva 2026” Carnival Groups Competition.
5.30 pm – Performance by the chirigota “Dame una pista”.
6.00 pm – Performance by the Cádiz chirigota “Los hombres de Paco” (Chirigota del Tomate y el Ojo).
6.30 pm – Performance by the Cádiz chirigota “Una chirigota en teoría” (Lilli and Paco’s chirigota).
7.30 pm – Performance by the Cádiz chirigota “Los Compay” (Los Molina chirigota).
Note: The carnival parade will be accompanied by the winning chirigota and comparsa groups from the “Villa de Manilva 2026” carnival competition, the Chirigota del Pelu, the chirigota “Dame una pista”, the EMMAT marching band, and children’s carnival entertainment with a carnival float.
