Infrastructure projects in Sabinillas

The Manilva Town Hall has announced a series of new projects aimed at improving local infrastructure and public spaces.

Planned improvements include the modernisation of Calle Aurora de Albornoz and a transformation of Plaza de Los Naranjos, which will be pedestrianised and redesigned with new trees and street furniture. Traffic circulation will also be reorganised in nearby areas, introducing two-way movement from the Avenida Andalucía junction, along with updated street lighting and improved landscaping.

Further works are scheduled for Plaza del Greco in the Acapulco area, with construction set to begin in September to avoid disruption during the summer season. The 1,310-square-metre space will be redesigned to match the style of the seafront promenade, featuring shaded areas, seating, cooling mist systems and carefully reorganised planting. Most existing vegetation will be preserved where possible, with damaged species transplanted, and the square’s distinctive boat sculpture will also be restored.

The projects form part of the council’s broader commitment to upgrading public spaces and improving the town’s urban environment.
