Malaga Christmas Lights

Málaga is once again preparing to captivate visitors with one of Spain’s most enchanting festive spectacles. The city’s iconic Christmas lights will be switched on Friday, 28th November 2025 at 6.30 pm, lighting up Calle Marqués de Larios and marking the start of the holiday season. From that evening, Málaga’s historic centre becomes a luminous stage filled with colour, music and celebration.

This year, Calle Larios debuts “Una Natividad de Luz,” a new artistic concept inspired by the Nativity, replacing the well-known angel installations of previous years. More than 2.7 million LED lights illuminate over 500 streets, creating a warm, magical atmosphere that spreads throughout the city.

The lights turn on daily from approximately 6.30 pm until midnight, with extended hours on weekends and festive eves. Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve bring extra sparkle, as the lights stay on until early morning. The much-loved sound-and-light show on Calle Larios returns with three performances every evening, offering one of the most memorable sights of the season.

The festive lighting will continue until 6th January 2026, accompanying Málaga’s celebrations right through to the arrival of the Three Kings. Throughout the season, visitors can enjoy the illuminated streets, bustling cafés, markets and the unmistakable charm that makes Málaga a must-see Christmas destination.
