As Spain’s population ages, regional governments are stepping up to help older citizens maintain their health, independence, and quality of life. One standout initiative comes from the Junta de Andalucía, which has just reopened its annual call for the “Subvenciones Individuales para Personas Mayores”—individual grants for senior residents.
This financial aid program, run through the Ministry of Social Inclusion, Youth, Families and Equality, offers crucial support to those aged 65 and over, helping cover the cost of vital health-related services that are often out of reach for those on limited incomes.
So what does the grant cover? This year, the focus is on improving oral health and mobility. Eligible applicants can receive up to €600 toward the purchase, repair, or renewal of dental prostheses or orthotics. With dental health being a major factor in both physical well-being and social confidence, the support couldn’t be more timely.
To apply, seniors must reside legally in Andalucía, meet specific income requirements (no more than 1.25 times the IPREM), and provide a detailed quote from a licensed clinic or supplier. Applications are open from 30th May 30 to 19th June, 2025, and can be submitted online or in person. Local town halls and social services departments are available to assist with the process.
This isn’t just about teeth or braces—it’s about dignity, autonomy, and inclusion. For many older adults, something as simple as a well-fitting denture or supportive orthotic can make a huge difference in their daily lives. With this grant, the Junta de Andalucía is saying loud and clear: our elders matter.
If you or a loved one fits the criteria, now’s the time to apply. For more information, visit the Junta’s official website or speak to your local social services office. A healthier, more confident smile could be just a form away.
