In a significant step towards improving animal welfare, Cristina Quirós, a local veterinarian, has donated two microchip readers to the Manilva Local Police.
This generous contribution, supported by the Department of Environment under Noelia Muñoz, will help expedite the identification process for lost and abandoned animals in the area. Faster identification means quicker reunions with owners and better care for stray animals.
Manilva’s Mayor, José Manuel Fernández, who also oversees Public Security, praised this initiative. He emphasized the police force’s readiness to manage animal-related situations effectively and highlighted how the new microchip readers will bolster existing resources.
This donation is a testament to the community’s commitment to animal welfare and reflects a collaborative effort to ensure the safety and care of animals in the municipality.
