Manilva’s Councillor for Culture Fina Gómez, along with the historical reenactment society Manzanares-Estepona 1831, has organised a weekend of events from the 13th to 15th September, celebrating key moments in Manilva’s history, including a reenactment of the 1810 storming of the the Castle in Castillo de la Duquesa.
Taking part will be around a dozen historical reenactment societies from across Andalucia.

Friday, 13th
Plaza Vicente Espinel, Sabinillas
7.30 pm – Presentation of the poster. Announcement by Mr. José García Luque.
Performance by David Cordobés accompanied by a dance performance.
Saturday, 14th
In and around the Castle
12 noon – Parade of troops through the streets of the Castle core.
12.30 pm – Opening of the Historical Reenactment.
1 pm – First scene: Skirmish with gunshots.
1.15 pm – Second scene: Assault on the Castle.
1.45 pm – Third scene:On the Barricades, fighting between troops and people.
2 pm – Fourth scene: End of the assault.
Sunday, 15th
Calle Mar in Manilva
12 noon – Beginning of the parade in Plaza Martín Carpena in Manilva, ending in Calle Mar.
1 pm – Speeches and presentation of institutional gifts.
1.30 pm – Theatrical performance by the various associations.Dance performance by the EMMDAT.
