Manilva Football Promotion

Unión Manilva C.F.’s senior team has secured promotion to Primera Andaluza, giving the club a major boost ahead of the start of the 2026/27 season.

The promotion represents another step forward for senior football in Manilva and will see the team competing at a higher provincial level during the new campaign.

The news comes particularly late in the preparations for the season. As recently as 4 September, the Málaga Football Federation’s published fixture information had Unión Manilva listed in Segunda Andaluza, with the team due to open its campaign away to Valle de Abdalajís on the weekend of 12–13 September.

The subsequent announcement of promotion therefore appears to represent a late change to the league structure or allocation of places, with an updated Primera Andaluza fixture list for Manilva still to be confirmed publicly.

Unión Manilva finished the 2025/26 Segunda Andaluza season in fifth place, after a campaign in which the senior side remained among the stronger teams in the division.

The club has already been preparing for the new season under coach Francis Salas, with pre-season training and the recent II Trofeo La Vendimia forming part of its build-up.

For Unión Manilva, promotion to Primera Andaluza means a tougher level of competition but also an opportunity to continue the club’s progress and establish itself higher up the Andalusian regional football pyramid.

Further details of the revised league calendar and Manilva’s opening fixture are expected once the new category arrangements are confirmed.
