Málaga will once again become one of Europe’s leading destinations for fans of comics, films, television, gaming and popular culture when San Diego Comic-Con Málaga returns from Thursday 1st to Sunday 4th October 2026.
The four-day convention will be held at FYCMA, the Málaga Trade Fair and Congress Centre, bringing together fans, creators, actors, studios, publishers, artists and entertainment companies from around the world. It will be the second edition of the event and continues Málaga’s role as the home of the first official European edition of the famous San Diego Comic-Con.
The inaugural Málaga convention attracted more than 95,000 visitors in 2025, with over 450 activities, more than 100 exhibitors and brands, around 60 international guests and approximately 300 hours of content. Following the success of that first edition, organisers have announced a considerably expanded layout for 2026.
This year’s convention will cover around 90,000 square metres and will include a new 9,000-square-metre pavilion for exhibitors. Artists’ Alley will have its own dedicated pavilion, giving comic artists, illustrators and creators greater space and visibility, while the Gaming Plaza will move to a new location with independent access.
The expanded venue will also include exhibitor halls, an Asia Zone, new auditoriums and a central Village area, alongside additional places to eat, relax and take a break between activities. Improved signage and redesigned circulation routes are intended to make it easier for visitors to move around the convention.
An impressive selection of guests has already been announced, with more expected to join the programme before October
Among the confirmed film and television guests are Karl Urban, Kevin Smith, Michael Rooker, Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Dan Fogler and Deborah Ann Woll. One Piece stars Iñaki Godoy and Emily Rudd are also scheduled to attend, offering fans opportunities to see them taking part in panels, autograph sessions and professional photo sessions.
Comic-book fans will also be well represented. Legendary Marvel and DC artist John Romita Jr. is among the major names confirmed, together with illustrator and visual-development artist Mingjue Helen Chen and a growing selection of international comic creators.
The convention is about far more than meeting famous guests. Throughout the four days, visitors can expect panels, presentations, exhibitions, workshops, autograph sessions, gaming areas, role-playing activities, merchandise stands and cosplay.
Films and television series will share the spotlight with comics, animation, video games, board games, manga and anime. Disney has also confirmed its participation in the 2026 edition, although further details about its presentations and activities are expected to be announced closer to the event.
Cosplay is set to be another major feature, with fans encouraged to attend dressed as their favourite characters. From superheroes and science-fiction icons to anime characters and video-game legends, the colourful costumes and creativity of visitors will help create the unmistakable Comic-Con atmosphere.
The official Portal SDCC Málaga application will help visitors plan their experience, organise their day and access information about appointments and activities. With such a large programme spread across several different areas, planning ahead will be essential for anyone hoping to make the most of the convention.
Tickets are available through the official San Diego Comic-Con Málaga website and Ticketmaster. Some activities, professional photographs and autograph opportunities may be subject to separate availability or additional charges, so visitors should check the conditions carefully when booking.
Whether you are passionate about superheroes, blockbuster movies, cult television series, manga, gaming, collecting or cosplay, San Diego Comic-Con Málaga promises four packed days celebrating popular culture in all its forms.
With a larger venue, an expanding international guest list and more space dedicated to artists, exhibitors and activities, the October 2026 edition is shaping up to be one of the biggest entertainment events of the year in southern Spain.
