Estepona Gran Slam Evolucion

Estepona’s Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos will host an evening of martial arts this Saturday, 3 October 2026, as the Gran Slam K-9 Costa del Sol returns with its special “Evolution 2.0” edition.

Around 140 competitors from Spain, Morocco, England, Russia, Ukraine, Hungary, Romania, Colombia and Brazil are expected to participate. The programme will showcase a range of disciplines, including Kyokushinkai karate, jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai, K-1 and mixed martial arts. This year, all MMA bouts will take place inside a cage.

Doors open at 5 pm, with the amateur gala starting at 5.30 pm. The professional programme begins at 7.30 pm with a kata demonstration by Estepona’s Ruiz Dojo school, followed by 15 professional bouts.

Seven professional titles will be contested during the evening. These include two Andalucía championships, two Slam Series Legends K-1 titles, a Slam Series heavyweight grappling title, a Slam Series lightweight MMA title and a Slam Series world title.

Among the headline contests is the Slam Series world title fight between European champion Kristof, from Poland, and reigning Slam Series world champion Fabio Medina, from Portugal.

Local interest will centre on the Andalucía title contests involving Club K-9 Estepona fighter Lobato and Alfonso Gómez of Team Quiñones. Other highlights announced by the organisers include Mourad Zakari’s K-1 heavyweight title contest and a Legends title appearance by Brazilian jiu-jitsu master Vinicius Moura.

The evening will also feature the first Slam Series MMA title fight, with Tarifa fighter Kraken taking on Nourman Amrani in the 70 kg category.

Advance standard tickets cost €25 and are available through participating clubs in Estepona. Tickets will also be sold at the venue on the day for €30.

A bar will be available inside the Palacio de Congresos. For spectators seeking a hospitality option, VIP tables include dinner and drinks during the event and must be reserved in advance.

With amateur and professional competition on the same bill, Evolution 2.0 offers martial arts enthusiasts an opportunity to see local fighters and international competitors in action across several disciplines.
