Scottish pop favourites Deacon Blue will return to Andalucía in September 2027 as part of a special tour celebrating the 40th anniversary of their debut album Raintown.
The band will perform at Sala La Trinchera in Málaga on Tuesday 21 September 2027, followed the next night by a concert at Sala Custom in Seville on Wednesday 22 September. Both dates form part of a nine-date Spanish tour announced for September next year.
Released in 1987, Raintown established Deacon Blue as one of Scotland’s best-known bands and included songs such as Dignity, Loaded, Chocolate Girl and When Will You (Make My Telephone Ring).
For the anniversary shows, Deacon Blue will perform Raintown in full, followed by a second set featuring songs from across their four-decade career. The band itself has described the tour as a celebration of 40 years since the release of the album.
Led by singer and songwriter Ricky Ross, alongside vocalist Lorraine McIntosh, Deacon Blue enjoyed a string of major hits through the late 1980s and 1990s, including Real Gone Kid, Fergus Sings the Blues, Your Town and I’ll Never Fall in Love Again.
The group remains an active recording and touring band, with its most recent studio album, The Great Western Road, released in 2025.
The Málaga concert will take place at Sala La Trinchera, Calle Parauta 25, one of the city’s established live music venues.
The following night the band heads to Sala Custom in Seville, before continuing the Spanish tour through Valencia, Madrid and Barcelona.
Tickets for the Spanish dates go on general sale on Friday 25 September 2026 at 10am, with the band also announcing selected venue pre-sales from Thursday 24 September.
