At the recent Royal British Legion District Spain South Annual Conference held at Molly’s Roadhouse, Coin, the Duquesa Branch of the RBL received the inaugural Mary Le Corney Annual Poppy Appeal Fundraising Award.
Mary had been a stalwart member of the RBL, being Chairperson of the Torremolinos Branch for over twenty years until her passing last year. To preserve her name within District it was decided to create an award for the Branch that raised the most donations for the Annual Poppy Appeal based upon per capita of members from Branches along the Costa Del Sol and within Málaga Province.

With the amount of beneficiaries and needs rising every year all donations for the Poppy Appeal remain within District Spain South.
