Sotogrande will welcome an international celebration of choral music this October when three choirs come together for a special concert featuring around 100 voices.
100 Voices – Three Choirs United will take place on Friday 9 October at 8 pm at the Iglesia Nuestra Señora de la Merced in Sotogrande. The evening will bring together Camerata Sotogrande, Finland’s Intermezzo Kören and the Senior Choir from Sotogrande International School for a varied programme of music.
Camerata Sotogrande has been part of the local music scene for around 20 years and currently has some 30 singing members. Under musical director Miguel Monge Magistris, the choir performs a broad repertoire ranging from classical and seasonal music to songs from stage and screen.
The group regularly performs around San Roque, Sotogrande, Estepona and the surrounding area, combining its love of music with support for local good causes. Money raised through ticket sales and private performances is used to contribute to local charities.
The October concert will continue that community spirit, with free admission and donations for local charities welcomed on the night.
Camerata Sotogrande has previously taken part in large-scale choral performances involving ensembles of up to 100 singers accompanied by a 40-piece orchestra, so the forthcoming event promises an impressive sound as the three choirs unite in Sotogrande.
